As with most legal matters, the more hard evidence you can present at your consultation the better. Some items include:
- Names of parties and institutions involved
- Copies of insurance documents between you and the other party
- Worker’s Comp paperwork
- Name of employer and human resources contact
- Names and contact information for those who may have been witnesses
- Medical receipts
- Police reports if applicable
- Photos or video detailing the injury, abuse, or neglect
- Motor Vehicle Accident Report
- Copies of insurance documents between you and the other party
- Estimates of damages to property (i.e. car)
Be prepared to be forthcoming with details that may be emotionally difficult. No one enjoys speaking about the pain inflicted on a loved one, but it is often important for me to understand the scope of the situation we are dealing with in our consultation. The utmost discretion will be given to the sensitive nature of your case.
